An academic library plays a
significant role in the context of new learning paradigm. According to this
understanding of learning, FAST University library as a subsystem of university
organization has not been a division only providing services for studies and
research any longer. Instead, it has become an important unit of university's
information infrastructure and an active participant in the learning process of
the particular study program. It is an integral part of university's
educational system. Together with the university departments and teaching
staff, this library strives to realize the study aims.
The library has become one of the
potential learning environments that functions at the university. It is
characterized by the abundance of information sources. It has interacted with all the educational environments
of academic study programs. Its regular clients (students, teachers,
researchers, administration staff) interact with each other. It is a condition
of entry into the Library that library staff may inspect all bags or other
receptacles capable of containing library materials and their contents.If a
person refuses such inspection of their bags or other receptacles, they may be
refused entry or asked to leave the Library.
