SOFTEC is a two-day event
organized every year at the Lahore campus of NUCES since 1998. Softec 2017 lead
by Mr. Humbl Imran as President is considered as the Best Edition due to its top-notch
management, designs and many other things. SOFTEC is the yearly flagship event
of FAST-NUCES Lahore.
This year I participated in
it and got a chance to have a close eye on SOFTEC. There were competitions in
eight fields. These competitions were held under the names of Software
Competition, Bilal Hashmi Programming Contest, Engineering Project Competition,
Web and App Development Competition, Gaming Competitions, Ideas Xtreme (Where
students from Grade School display their ideas), Robo Rumble, and Electronics
Engineering Competition. There were participants from all over Pakistan and
FAST students themselves. Companies also participate ranging from software
houses to career counseling firm to engineering giants. Scholars as well as
professionals from various fields attended SOFTEC as guests, observers and judges
to witness the proficiency of the students.
